We understand that when someone comes into your apartment, you expect cleanliness, safety, and respect — for you and your property. As part of our customer-focused service, we wear shoe coverings, put down tarps to collect dust and debris, and sweep and vacuum when we’re done.
Many TV mounting and on-demand handyman services such as TaskRabbit, Thumbtack®, and others do not require proof of competence or liability insurance. These private contractors are expected to carry their own liability insurance, but most do not. A gig worker can put you at risk. In addition to our established safety procedures, Mount It ATX carries a $1 million general liability policy to protect you and your property. Our Story
Our owner, Luke, first became familiar with the trades at a young age in his family’s roofing business. He grew up understanding how homes are built and the value of craftsmanship. In college, he renovated and managed two apartment complexes, where he gained a deeper understanding of these building methods.
This knowledge and experience has helped him develop critical skills like understanding where to check for hidden utilities, electrical wires, water and gas lines, and other potential hazards that may be hidden inside of walls. From a safety perspective, this experience and insight has been invaluable in growing his business.
After graduating from the University of California, Santa Barbara in 2008, Luke served in the US Navy until 2016. He operated as a photojournalist for the Navy Parachute Team and the Navy SEAL Scout Team. After an honorable discharge from the Navy, he worked different jobs that gave him more insight into trades, project management, and customer service.
In early 2023 Luke was impacted by mass layoffs at Google, his second layoff in three years. After the layoff, he took some time to travel through Mexico with his dog, Frank, while considering his next steps. He’d been mounting TVs since 2020 as a side gig and decided to use the skills and expertise he’d developed since childhood to start a business. Luke started Mount It ATX in July of 2023 and loves the opportunities to provide excellent customer service while learning the ins and outs of being a small business owner.
When Luke isn’t mounting TVs, he likes to take his dog to Zilker Park and Barking Springs. He’s also recently developed a serious addiction to two-stepping. You can usually find Luke in one of the many honky-tonk bars around town, two-stepping the night away to the amazing local bands here in Austin, TX.

We have the expertise and equipment to detect concealed wiring and plumbing within walls. We’re here when you need us, offering service as soon as the same day. Here’s how it works:
We begin with a visual inspection and may also use scanners or a scope camera to detect any hidden hazard behind your walls, such as electrical wires or pipes.
Next, we’ll plan the layout by discussing where you want your items placed and marking the locations with easily removable painter’s tape.
We’ll measure and mark your wall to locate the studs, so your items are securely mounted and properly aligned.
Protective tarps will be laid down to safeguard your space during the installation, keeping everything neat and clean as we work.
Once the work is complete, we’ll clean up thoroughly by sweeping, vacuuming, and wiping down surfaces, leaving your space spotless.
